A day trip to North Wales - Snowdon Mountain Railway, Swallow Falls and Betws-y-coed (22/9/2013)

We went there by bus under Manchester International Society. There were several places we visited including Snowdon Mountain Railway, Swallow Falls and Betws-y-coed.

It was really fun with breathtaking view, and beautiful scenery, suitable for those who really enjoy the nature.

1) Swallow Falls

Swallow Fall's is one of Snowdonia's most visited sights. Rising among the towering peaks of Carnedd Llewellyn the River Llugwy runs eastward towards Capel Curig and Betws-y-Coed, before reaching Swallow falls, which has long been one of the most visited beauty spots in the area. It is the highest continuous waterfall in Wales. The falls are set on the River Llugwy two miles west of Betws-y-Coed along the A5 to Capel Curig, in the beautiful Gwydir Forest.

Welcome to Swallow Falls

The waterfall makes me wanna dive in..

2) Snowdon Mountain Railway

Snowdon Mountain Railway will take you on a journey of a lifetime to the rooftop of Wales. Snowdon, at 3,560ft dominates the landscape of Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. Claim this mountain peak, the highest in Wales, as a lifetime’s achievement. With stunning scenery and awe-inspiring views it's all part of a great day out for you and your family in North Wales.
With my friends in the train

Tadaa..We have reached the destination.

The view of the mountain from the train

Proud to be Malaysian!

Here is several info which I find them interesting:

  • Sir Edmund Hillary trained here before his historic ascent of Everest
  • Legend says that King Arthur was buried below Snowdon
  • oh, there is a cafe where you can meet with other friends and have a cup of coffee!

3) Betws-y-coed Railway Station

Well , obviously there is a railway station and many shops that sell souvenirs. Don't forget to buy some for your family/friends!

Hope you guys enjoy the pictures and see you again in the next entry!

  2. Salam Nadia. I'm one of your silent reader's blog. Thanks btw for some informative entry especially regarding how you apply your Msc to UK. I just nak tanya you sikit.
    1) skrg ni u still tengah buat master lagi? ke dah habis?
    2) Since u under MARA's loan for your Msc, i nak tanya u if u tahu la pasal ni... boleh ke let say if nak sambung loan yg mara bagi tu ke Phd level after dah habis Master.. (example let say i dapat Mara initially for Master only, then after hbs master kat oversea, then i dapat Phd kat tempat sama and u rasa ada possibillity tak Mara nak sambung terus loan?)
ke kita kena apply loan mara from beginning balik macam kita apply Master awal2?
sorry tanya banyak2 plak... thank you in advance.

    1. Wsalam Ridzuan..
sorry baru ada masa nak reply.
      1) I baru je habis and will be graduating on the 11th of December 2014.
      2) if u nak sambung PHD, u kna apply mcm biasa. No priority will be given to current Mara's students. Maklumlah. PHD tu bukannya murah. Kalau kat luar negara bole mencecah sampai 1juta. Bergantung kepada course yg kita nak.
